On the other hand

According to the Israel Meteorological Authority, this winter has seen the most beneficial rainfall in thirty years.

Sustained steady rain over several weeks has helped to replenish the underground aquifers and raise the level of the Kinneret. While Israel no longer relies entirely on a full lake for its water the prolonged rainfall has been good news for agriculture. Flooding has been minimal and with still several weeks of the rainy season ahead the blessings for a bountiful spring look promising.

The landscape is a vivid green and the first buds and blossoms are appearing heralding the approach of Pesach.

INDIGENOUS EMBASSY

An event of historic proportions has taken place in Jerusalem.

Indigenous representatives from all over the world converged on Israel’s Capital to celebrate the official opening of an Embassy which will be the hub for a variety of events in the future.

It is very moving to see and hear how diverse indigenous tribes all recognise the validity of the Jewish People’s connection to the Land of Israel and its eternal Capital, Jerusalem. At a time when delegitimisation of the Jewish State is rampant this affirmation of Jewish sovereignty is extremely important.

Dr Sheree Trotter of New Zealand is one of the prime motivators for the opening of this new Embassy and it is thrilling to see how many of the tangata whenua – the indigenous Maori tribes of Aotearoa are supporting this historic venture.
