On the other hand
It is already the end of January, and with another month and a half to go of official winter, Israel is experiencing the driest start to the rainy season in sixty years.
Once upon a time, this state of affairs would have been classified as a national emergency. We have been advised to pray harder for serious precipitation and this may yet occur. It is thanks to a massive investment in desalination projects that this country is no longer held hostage by periodical bouts of droughts.
In some countries such as the UK and New Zealand, which usually experience floods and excessive downpours, hosing and other water usage restrictions are regular features. Here there are no such restraints these days.
If our so-called peace partners would invest their foreign aid in developing alternative sources of water instead of sponsoring terror they could also improve the lives of their long-suffering citizens.
There is surely a lesson to be learnt from Israel, but the boycotters and purveyors of slanders are most probably too blinkered to take note.
