On the other hand
From tragedy and mourning to joy and celebration – that is the age-old experience of the Jewish People during three millennia of history.
We mourn for the innocent lives snuffed out during the Shoah while an indifferent world looked away. Now, we mourn and remember all who have fallen in the defence of Jewish sovereignty and all those who have been murdered by terror groups.
Twenty-four hours later we switch almost instantly to celebration as we hail the amazing achievements of Israel in its seventy-fourth year of restored independence.
There is a lot to cheer about but at the same time most of us are realistic enough to know that without a strong and formidable deterrent and a determination to forge ahead despite all challenges, we cannot succeed.
As we look forward, the possibilities for further groundbreaking innovations are unlimited. In addition we eagerly anticipate more Olim joining us as Israel advances forward on all fronts.
HARD HITTING TRUTHS
Ireland (Eire) has the dubious distinction of being the most anti-Israel member of the EU. Its politicians and media lose no opportunity to pillory Israel and advocate BDS as well as spouting every discredited lie.
After several years of boycotting anyone who might present an alternative viewpoint the Irish Parliament allowed an Israeli Arab to address it, no doubt in the hope that yet again, they would have their warped beliefs confirmed.
Little did they realize that the speaker, Yoseph Haddad, was going to tell them some home truths and expose their hypocrisy and ignorance. This hard-hitting speech could equally be delivered at the United Nations and the Parliaments of all member countries but that of course is wishful thinking because those peddling falsehoods do not want to be confused by the real facts.
Read this presentation and then pass it on to anyone you think would benefit from learning the truth. Needless to say this will not feature in any of your local mainstream media.

A MESSAGE TO BE HEEDED
Listen to the heartwarming story of a non-Jewish volunteer in Israel whose family members were Nazis.
She is one of many such individuals who are trying to atone for the past involvement of their relations who were complicit in the persecution and murder of Jews during the Shoah years.
FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION
Here is another moving testimony from a young woman whose great-grandparents saved Jews in the Netherlands during the Nazi occupation of that country.
Now their great-granddaughter is serving in the IDF and helping to defend and save Jews again.
AS IT HAPPENED
For many today, Israel is an established fact and the dramas associated with the struggle to be reborn and survive are somehow lost in the mists of time.
It is therefore timely to briefly look back and learn about the tumultuous years when Jewish sovereignty hung in the balance and how the dedication and sacrifices of so many enabled the country to be where it is today.
It is also a sobering reminder that when it comes to the crunch we can only rely on ourselves and divine help.
What was true then remains true today as we celebrate Israel’s 74th. Independence Day.
