Mazal Tov, we finally have a new Government sworn into office.

If it goes ahead it hopefully means serious decisions can be made to tackle the political, security, economic and health challenges facing the country.

Fortunately, the innovative spirit which characterizes Israel as a country and society has not been in quarantine and continues to display remarkable resilience.

BREATH TESTING

We all know about breathalyzer tests which drivers suspected of drink driving have to undertake when stopped by traffic police.

ANNUAL KOTEL VISITORS

Every spring flocks of swift birds migrating from Africa make their homes in Jerusalem and specifically at the Western Wall. Experts claim that this species of birds have been doing this for at least two thousand years since the time of King Herod.

MORE PROOF WE WERE HERE

The Israel Antiquities Authority revealed a coin minted during the Bar Kochba revolt that was unearthed near the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City.

The announcement of the coin’s discovery was timed to coincide with Lag B’Omer.

The coin, which was found in the William Davidson Archaeological Park next to the Western Wall, is adorned with a cluster of grapes and the words “Year Two of the Freedom of Israel” on one side — declaring the rebels’ purpose — while the other side has a palm tree and the word “Jerusalem.”

IDF HELPS ISRAELI MOSLEM CITIZENS

With coronavirus restrictions in place the observance of Ramadan for Moslems this year creates the same sort of problems which Jews faced during Passover.

Rising to the challenge the soldiers of the IDF launched a programme to tackle both the virus crisis and food supplies for Moslem families in Israeli Arab communities. Needless to say this was never reported in the mainstream media because it shows reality as opposed to tendentious anti Israel agendas.
