Premier Barry O’Farrell addressed the major business lunch in Sydney for 350 business executives where he was engaged in discussion with Imre Salusinszky, NSW Political Reporter, The Australian.
After being swept to power in March 2011, the Premier established an Action Plan to make NSW number one again. The new State Government set its priorities and has worked on five key areas:
• Rebuilding the NSW economy;
• Returning quality services;
• Renovating infrastructure;
• Restoring accountability, and
• Protecting our local environment.
As a policy adviser at both State and Federal levels in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s, the Premier has embraced a passion for leading NSW through the challenging times that the world economy is now facing. The Premier was elected to NSW Parliament in 1995 and now represents the electorate of Ku-ring-gai. After holding key posts, such as Shadow Treasurer and Shadow Transport Minister, the Premier was elected unopposed by his Liberal colleagues as NSW Liberal Leader in April 2007. He was elected Premier on 26 March 2011.
