On Saturday, October 26 in Sydney, the band will present an amazing tribute to 1970’s band “Kaveret” epic album: “Sippurey Poogy”. Today, Kaveret is recognised as a breakthrough band in Israeli rock and pop history and revered as the Beatles of Israel. With an unprecedented run of hits and songs that have become standards, this rare combination of talent reached its peak with the release of their album Sippurei Poogyin 1973.

This album combined 7-part vocal harmonies with sophisticated yet accessible instrumentation, yielding an album that truly captured the zeitgeist of Israel in the ’70s, to the point where one-third of Israel’s population turned out for the launch of the album. All of the songs on Sippurei Poogyhave become part of the canon and textbook of Israeli music that is still being performed and emulated by today’s stars.

This one-off concert at Emanuel Synagogue follows exciting sell-out concerts in Melbourne. Special guests in the band include: “ARIA” Award winner – Lior– vocals, guitar, APRA-winning Old Man River (Ohad Rein)– guitar, vocals, Simon Starr– bass, vocals, Jonathan Skovron– guitar, vocals, Adam Starr– guitar, vocals, Scott Griffiths– keyboard, vocals and Julia Bebenek– drums.

HaChaverim Shel Kaveret are going to perform the album Sippurei Poogyin full as well as other favourite Kaveret songs. We invite you to join us and sing your hearts out!!!

The concert is on Saturday, October 26 from 8:00 pm at Emanuel Synagogue, 7 Ocean Street, Woollahra. Alcohol, drinks and food will be available at the venue ensuring an amazing club atmosphere.
