New Zealand authors publish new book to challenge Holocaust denial
New Zealand writers and filmmakers, Lance and James Morcan are planning to adapt their recent book for a television documentary series to stamp-out Holocaust deniers.Morcan Motion Pictures plans to bring their book to the small screen, envisaging six one-hour episodes. Their vision includes covering all 10 chapters of the book, and the brothers have already begun approaching potential funders.
Their book, “Debunking Holocaust denial Theories” verifies the historical facts of the Nazi genocide and discredits the many arguments deniers use to undermine the historicity of those events. The Morcans, authored the book in close consultation with Holocaust survivors – with the foreword written by survivor Hetty E. Velrome.
The book also includes an overview of Jewish History and the history of antisemitism, and draws interesting parallels with disturbing events of today. The book is both a reflection around history, – lessons of the past and a reflection on contemporary contexts.
“We have written extensively about the Holocaust and its dark legacy. This no doubt explains why, in the last few years, we have received frequent emails from people – some of whom are even authors themselves – who question whether the Holocaust occurred as per the history books, and we quite often receive hate mail from anti-Semites,” says the Morcans.
The book has outraged Holocaust deniers including high profile denier Carlo Mattogno who has authored many books championing Holocaust denialism. Mattogno went so far to publish “Fail: Debunking Holocaust Denial Theories’: How James and Lance Morcan Botched Their Attempt to Affirm the Historicity of the Nazi Genocide” – a book with an identical cover image to the Morcans’ book.
These reactions have only contributed to the Morcans desire to drive plans forward for a TV series that portrays the life stories and experiences of survivors in a documentary style with their film production company.

I am not a Shoah denier, but I do question the alleged numbers who perished in German concentration camps as does Raul Hilberg, considered the foremost Jewish Shoah scholar.
Hilberg, a fine scholar who wrote fearlessly, reduced the claimed 6 million figure to 5 million, saying that he couldn’t find any documented evidence in support of the claimed figure.
Dr Norman Finkelstein, who wrote the highly controversial, revealing book ‘The Holocaust Industry’, said based on his extensive research, it was impossible to find any reliable data to support the claimed 6 million. So did Yehuda Baur, also considered a leading Shoah scholar.
Let me repeat the fact that I do not deny that European Jews, along with many other minorities, were abominably treated in WW2.
However, like many others globally, I believe that it’s important to provide accurate information when discussing history.
Wonderful idea
The book is really brilliant. Cant wait for the TV series
If a person believes that the earth is flat, he will keep on believing it
even if it is shown that this is not the case.
Strange as it seems there are people today who still believe that the earth is flat despite science having positively demonstrated otherwise.
Once an antisemite and holocaust denier has made up his mind to follow this train of thought , that person will be most unlikely to change his mind.
