Martin Yafe’s arrival at Emanuel School represents the latest phase of the Jewish and Hebrew Department’s vision for the School where they are working with students beyond the classroom, enhancing their Jewish experiential education.

Martin Yafe makes new friends

This will be achieved by building the culture of Israeli and Jewish music on campus and strengthening the student leadership program – Hadracha.

Mr Yafe was born in Cordoba in Argentina. The son of a well-known rabbi, he has spent many years working in Jewish informal education as well as serving as shaliach tzivur for synagogues in Argentina and the United States. He also was involved in Israel advocacy in Argentina.

Martin received his bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a minor in Law in Argentina and his Masters in Government with specialisation in Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security at IDC in Israel. He also studied for several years at the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary taking courses in Jewish and cantorial studies.
