New studios for J-Air
J-AIR 88FM, Australia’s sole Jewish community radio station, has celebrated the launch of its new studios in St Kilda.
The momentous occasion was marked by the presence of esteemed guests, including Josh Burns, the federal MP for Macnamara, David Southwick, Deputy Opposition Leader in Victoria, and Victorian Senator James Paterson, who jointly inaugurated the studios. Despite their political differences, J-AIR Chair, Jim Cyngler, expressed gratitude to the politicians for their unwavering support in advocating for J-AIR to obtain a community broadcast license.
Cyngler highlighted the significance of this support, stating, “It’s great to have strong backing for our station and recognition of J-AIR’s importance in the community. A full community broadcast license will enable us to reach a much wider audience.” Doron Abramovich, Vice President of the Jewish Community Council of Victoria (JCCV), also attended the event.
Cyngler emphasised J-AIR’s crucial role in promoting a wide range of community activities through various show formats. He stressed the importance of community support in establishing the new studio as a stepping stone towards J-AIR’s goal of becoming a multimedia hub. He encouraged individuals to become J-AIR members by simply visiting their website.
The state-of-the-art studios boast two broadcast studios and a separate recording studio for producing podcasts and other pre-recorded content.
