Duncan Kendall has been appointed as the Principal/CEO of the Yeshiva College Bondi.

Duncan Kendall

For the last nine years, he was deputy headmaster at The Scots College Bellevue Hill and has been acting principal since February this year at Yeshiva College Bondi.

During this time, he initiated the development and implementation of the Ceannard Leadership program and Mental Health Program in the Senior Preparatory School, presented his Action Research Paper at the IBSC International Conference in Montreal, Canada in 2019 and coached Rugby for the Preparatory college 1stxv rugby, NSW CIS and NSW Sydney Junior Representative teams.

Rabbi Dr Dovid Slavin, the Executive Director of the College said: “The students, parents and staff are delighted with Mr Kendall’s appointment and have taken warmly to him.”

Duncan Kendall joined the college just as Covid-19 hit and dived “head-first” into setting up a very successful online school program which was launched to the student body via video.

He has appreciated the warm welcome he has received from the Yeshiva Community and the great joy he has received through this partnership that began in a very “unique” 2020 that nobody expected.

“In the very short time since Mr Kendal has been here, he has more than proved his credentials both with government officers and our staff, I couldn’t be happier in working with someone who has so much dedication and passion for education and leadership, “Rabbi Slavin added.

Harry Triguboff, life governor of Yeshiva College Bondi, commented “I am delighted to see how upbeat and happy the children, parents and staff are and how optimistic Rabbi Slavin is for the future of the college”

Mr Kendall said: “If the energy, kindness and expertise I have experienced from the Yeshiva Community in these brief, challenging times are anything to go by, the future for Yeshiva is something that I can not wait to see evolve”.

Mr Kendall also views his appointment as a privilege and wants to ensure he honours a custodial role for Yeshiva College Bondi and will ensure to fulfil the newly established College Mission Statement that “Yeshiva College striving in excellence for Jewish Education and Leadership” will be fulfilled under his leadership.
