New principal for Masada College

Raquel Charet has been appointed principal of Sydney’s Masada College.

Masada College Board Co-President Danny Cohen said: Mrs Charet is a dynamic Principal and educator.”

Raquel  Charet grew up predominantly in Sydney, attending Yeshivah College (now known as Kesser Torah College) and then relocated to Melbourne, where she graduated from Beth Rivkah Ladies College.

Danny Cohen continued: “Having obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Jewish Studies, a Master of Teaching (Secondary), a Master of Science (Coaching Psychology), all from the University of Sydney, and an Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Management, Mrs Charet joins us as a highly qualified educator.”

Mrs Charet has over ten years’ experience as a Principal, first at Sydney Montessori School and most recently at Georges River Grammar, where she has held the role of Principal for five years, leading a Kindergarten to Year 12 school of over 900 students.

“I have a passion for outstanding academic achievement and well-rounded education and I am elated to return to a Jewish community school.  I am looking forward to working with staff, parents and students to take Masada on the next chapter and continue to build the College from strength to strength,” said Mrs Charet.

Mrs Charet will formally commence her role as College Principal in Term 1, 2024.

The College is also pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ryan Gill as College Deputy Principal. Mr Gill has worked at Masada College for over 13 years and is currently the Head of the Senior School. Mr Gill’s superb educational and management skills have been invaluable.

Mrs Karen Gunasekara was welcomed to Masada College this term as the Head of the Junior School. Having previously worked at Masada, Mrs Gunasekara is enjoying being back in the warm and nurturing Masada College environment.
