New president for Caulfield
Newly elected President of Melbourne’s Caulfield Hebrew Congregation Anthony Raitman has set out his vision for the future.
In front of 200 members Raitman outlined the success that Caulfield Shul has achieved over the past few years and believes it is as a result of the fact that “we have built a brand of orthodox Judaism that engages with our members and the broader community in so many different ways.” But he also acknowledged that the new Board cannot become complacent.
“We need to continue to connect with our regular shule goers and traditional member base while courageously reaching out and engaging with the current and next generation of members with messages and actions that are inclusive and meaningful.”
Rabbi Genende welcomed Anthony to the role of President as a “talented, able and energetic individual whose leadership will no doubt continue the growth and success at Caulfield Shul.
The Rabbi also praised to outgoing President, Robert Weil for his “measured leadership, the harmonious and humorous spirit he engendered and his absolute dedication to our kehilla.”
