New JEMP administrator
The Victorian Jewish community’s emergency management planning organisation (JEMP) recently announced the appointment of Kathy Kaplan OAM as the new JEMP Administrator.
JEMP is activated in the event of a major emergency affecting Victoria’s Jewish community and coordinates the community’s resources during the emergency and acts as liaison with government agencies and emergency services. While keeping a low profile and working in the background for most of the time, the organisation is always active and regularly meets and trains with government agencies and emergency services. JCCV President, Nina Bassat AM, said “We’re delighted that Kathy has joined the JEMP team. Kathy brings to the role considerable organisational experience and her skills will greatly enhance the efficient operation of JEMP”. JEMP has a branch in NSW and has been used as a model for similar organisations in the UK and South Africa. For more information, JEMP can be contacted on 9272 5580.
