New Development Chief for Jewish Care

Melbourne’s Jewish Care  has announced the appointment of Mark Joel to the Jewish Care Executive team in the role of General Manager, Development.

Jewish Care’s Development department incorporates fundraising, marketing, communications and youth engagement services.

Joel is well known to many in the Jewish Community through his involvement with Leibler Yavneh College and in particular, his position as Chairman of its School Council and co-founder of its Foundation.

He has a passion for fundraising and community development along with being significantly involved with the Jewish community. He has worked professionally as a lawyer, corporate adviser and senior executive in the commercial field and his experience at senior management level will complement the skill set within the current Executive management team.

In addition, Joel has degrees in Law and Arts from the University of Melbourne and was a senior associate at prominent Australian law firm Arnold Bloch Leibler.

Robbie Franco, who has led the department for the past 16 months, resigned from the position on November 9.  Robbie made a significant contribution to Jewish Care and demonstrated great leadership and skill in building a high calibre Development Team.  Jewish Care sincerely thanks him for this commitment to the prosperity of Jewish Care Victoria.
