A spokesperson said: “We welcome the election to the role of Chairman of the Executive of the WZO of Yaakov Hagoel, whose experience as Deputy Chair and head of the Department of Activities in Israel & Countering Antisemitism places him in an excellent position to undertake this important role at a challenging time in Israel and globally. We look forward to working closely with Mr Hagoel, as we did with his predecessor, Avraham Duvdevani. We congratulate Mr Duvdevani on his term and wish him all the best as he assumes the role of Chair of Keren Kayemet L’Israel – Jewish National Fund (KKL/ JNF).

We thank the 13 Australian delegates who ably and enthusiastically represented their parties and the Australian Zionist movement at the virtual congress and congratulate Maddy Blay, Helen Shardey and Danny Lamm, who were elected to the WZO’s Zionist General Council.
