New board appointments at Technion Australia

Technion Australia has announced the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors.

The Board provides leadership for carrying out Technion Australia’s mission of promoting and supporting cutting edge research carried out by Technion – Israel Institute of Technology faculty members. Dr. Ruth Ratner will continue to serve as President of the Board.

Michael Graf and Prof. Graham De Vahl Davis have stepped down from the Board, Technion Australia has hanked them for their many years of commitment, support and contribution.

The new directors

Warren Bingham

Warren Bingham

Warren brings more than 25 years of proven success in the Medical Devices sector, he specialises in leading organisations with innovative and disruptive medical technologies with their strategic execution, commercialisation and Board fulfilment.

In 2001, Warren established the Australian subsidiary of Given Imaging Ltd, a company who revolutionised and pioneered PillCam® technology, an ingestible pill-sized camera to visualise the GI tract in a non-invasive, cost-effective, safe and patient-friendly manner. PillCam was invented by Dr Gavriel Iddan, a Technion alumnus and is regarded among Israel’s most important medical inventions. In 2004, he successfully established Capsule Endoscopy on the Medicare Benefits Scheme. In 2014, Covidien acquired Given Imaging for approx. $1 Billion.

Warren holds various board positions both in the commercial and NFP sectors including Chairmanship roles.

Warren is partner to Julie, has 3 children and 1 puppy Labrador.

David Morris

David Morris

David has more than 25 years of leadership, international business development and strategy experience.

David is the Chief Strategy Officer and President of Asia Pacific at Nanosonics Limited.

David is a Non-Executive Director of JewishCare NSW and The Burger Centre.

David was the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director at the Monash IVF Group.  Prior to that, he worked at Cochlear Limited, as Chief Strategy Officer, and as President of Cochlear Bone Anchored Solutions. Prior to joining Cochlear Limited, David worked at Accenture in the strategy practice.

David has extensive experience internationally and domestically in the healthcare, consumer products, utilities and financial services industries.

David holds degrees in Business and Applied Science from Monash University. He has also completed an Advanced Business Management Program at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Simon Singer

Simon Singer

Simon is the Managing Director of David Landa Stewart Lawyers. He has been its Managing Director since 2002 and Head of its Commercial Property and Finance Group since1996. He specialises in financing, construction law, property law,  business acquisition and disposal, and general corporate/commercial legal advisory issues.

Simon is an active member of the Jewish community, having acted as advisor and serving on a number of communal committees and boards from an early age. He is also engaged with the local start-up community through his membership of EO Sydney – a global, peer-to-peer network of more than 13,000+ influential business owners operating in 58 countries.

Simon is married to Julia and has 5 children.
