Netflix has purchased the Israeli comedy series “Six Zeros,” the first season of which aired in 2023 on Israel’s public broadcasting network, Kan 11, the channel announced on Tuesday.

“Six Zeros” explores what happens when people win millions in a lottery and how it changes their life.

“What happens when millions fall on you without any preparation? Six new lottery winners are surprised to learn they will not get the money immediately. A new law mandates [that they] take a workshop to prepare them for their new lives as millionaires,” according to the show’s description on the IMDB website.

Before they receive a shekel of their prizes, their lives have already spiralled out of control.

On May 17, the Israeli Academy of Film and Television awarded the show seven prizes, including for Best Comedy Series, Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Director.

The show stars Shlomo Bar-Aba, Liora Rivlin, Ofer Hayoun, Roni Daloomi, Rotem Keinan, Elisha Banai and Shani Klein.

It was created by Noya Oren.

Adam Berkowitz, founder of Lenore Entertainment Group, was involved in the sale. Prior to forming his own company, Berkowitz was co-head of the television department at Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
