The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies  is launching a new initiative for Holocaust remembrance distributing name reading kits for Yom HaShoah.

The kit includes a memorial candle, a card with the details of a Holocaust victim and a prayer to honour the six million victims of the Holocaust. 1600 candles have kindly been donated by Woolworths Double Bay and Bondi Junction.
The kits are planned to be donated to senior students at the following Jewish day schools: Moriah College, Emanuel School, Masada College and Kesser Torah College. Kits will also be distributed to 100 students from the NSW Board of Jewish Education (BJE). We have also made contact with various synagogues to serve as pick up points for community members.

This is an initiative of the Chair of the JBD’s Shoah Commemoration Committee, Danny Hochberg.

For online orders of name reading kits, visit www.holocaust.com.au and click on the ‘candle order’ box.

Great to see the employees at Print 35 packing the kits for the community. #everyonecandotheirbit

Maybe other selective senior education facilities would be interested too and worth considering.
Who would ever have heard of Anne Frank if not part of reading material on that level.
