Sydney shock jock Ray Hadley received a shock himself when a listener donated $36,000 from the Jewish community to a charity named as one needing Christmas funds.

Every year, Hadley selects a charity that needs special support for the holiday season, and he chose Youth in the Streets for 2024.

Expecting the usual crop of modest but welcome donations from readers, the soon-to-retire Ray Hadley from Sydney station 2GB could not believe when an anonymous listener chipped in $36,000 in appreciation of Hadley’s support for the Jewish community.
