Moriah College has performed the Moriah March in a  private performance to the piece’s composer…music icon Tommy Tycho.

Tommy Tycho surrounded by some of the musicians of Symphonic Winds Ensemble

The Australian music star now a resident in the Montefiore Home at Randwick.

He composed the Moriah March over a year ago and on Friday he visited the Sydney school to hear it being performed for the first time by the 55 members of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble.

School Director of Music Roberta Goot told J-Wire: “A social worker got word to us that he wanted to hear the piece played and we more than happy to oblige. It could have happened earlier but the orchestra had been touring overseas. It was our thrill to see his joy and hearing the music. He was moved and very excited”
