Multiculturalism NSW launches five year plan
The Multiculturalism NSW Strategic Plan for 2021-2025 has been launched at NSW Parliament House.
The plan was crafted with input from 400 people from various organisations, including the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies, after multiple exploratory meetings,
NSW Jewish Board of Deputies CEO Vic Alhadeff represented the Jewish community at the launch.
It was launched by the NSW Minister for Multiculturalism Dr Geoff Lee addressing his first event since being appointed Minister 24 hours earlier and after serving as Acting Minister for 18 months.
Multicultural NSW CEO Joseph La Posta outlined the key pillars of the Strategic Plan, focusing on the priorities of inclusion and social cohesion in corporate boardrooms, in the workplace, in service delivery, in all sectors.
He also emphasised the importance of social capital, community resilience and “being upstanders, not bystanders”.
Vic Alhadeff – a former Chair of Multicultural NSW – applauded Minister Lee and Multicultural NSW ‘for the foresight and vision which underpins their new Strategic Plan’.
He added: “We are fortunate to live in one of the most successful multicultural nations in the world, and Multicultural NSW is pivotally positioned to shape how our state will leverage and embrace this reality into the future.”
