MOTL seeks new board members

The March of the Living has its overseas activities curtailed due to Coronavirus, but it continues to operate with Australia.

As a skills-based Board, it seeks expressions of interest from individuals to join the board with expertise and experience in any of the following areas:

  • Strategy and governance
  • Finance
  • Fundraising
  • Marketing and communications
  • Community engagement

March of the Living Australia acts as the official Australian representative of International March of the Living which since its inception in 1988, has organised and facilitated the iconic March of the Living program where more than 250,000 people have visited Poland over the period of Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Memorial Day) and thereafter Israel to mark and celebrate Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut (Remembrance Day and Independence Day).

MOTL prides itself as a values-based community-oriented NFP organisation that aligns itself with best practice regarding Child Protection, Gender Equality and other standards of ethical, moral, social and behavioural integrity. Since the participation of the first Australian delegation in 2001, over 1,500 Year 11 Students, 500 Adults / Young Adults and 200 Staff (Survivors, Educators, Madrichim and other support personnel) have participated in this life-changing experience –“A Journey For A Lifetime”.

Candidates will need an appreciation of the not for profit business environment and align with our values. As a volunteer role, you must be willing to commit to Monthly Committee of Management meetings and various sub-committee meetings as and when required; and play an active role in driving the organisation forward through the various initiatives and tasks required.
