Moriah Wind Ensemble wins NSW Title

Sydney’s Moriah College Symphonic Wind Ensemble has won its division in the NSW State Junior Concert Band Championships.

Successful Ensemble

 

The ensemble, which features 55 musicians ranging from Year 7 to Year 12, took at the award st the Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith.

The Ensemble competed against Northolm Grammar School, Knox Grammar School and the Hunter-Central Coast Regional Wind Ensemble. Each competitor had to play three pieces, one common to all, a sacred item and one of their own choice.

The Moriah College Symphonic Wind Ensemble performed under the baton of Lloyd Edge.
