The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies annual general meeting next Tuesday will be attended by NSW Minister Alister Henskens as the guest speaker, representing the Premier and the NSW Government.

Darren Bark and Lesli Berger

Minister Henskens will share his thoughts and report back after recently returning from an NSW trade mission to Israel hosted by Business Western Sydney and the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce.

The CEO of The New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies, Darren Bark, told J-Wire: “Minister Henskens shared that he found the visit extremely rewarding on both a personal and ministerial level and we have already started to discuss his next trip to Israel,” Bark told J-Wire.

“The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies is honoured to have him address our annual general meeting and to hear first-hand about the mission he led to Israel.”

Notably, the AGM will also mark the end of Lesli Berger’s four-year presidency of the Board.

“We invite all members of the community to come along and hear about the important work of the Board and to pay tribute to Lesli as he steps down as President,” Bark added.

Berger said, “I am incredibly proud of the work of the NSWJBD and this organisation will forever hold a place in my heart. I look forward to seeing you at our AGM and to continue serving the community as immediate past president.”

The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies AGM will be held in person on Tuesday, August 16 at 7.30pm at an eastern suburbs location. To register, visit www.nswjbd.org/agm.
