Leeser will contest the seat for the Liberal Party vacated due to the retirement of its incumbent Philip Ruddock.

More than 400 people attended the mezzuzah fixing at the offices in the Sydney suburb of Thornleigh by Rabbi Roni Cohavi.

Rabbi Cohavi is the president of Parramatta Synagogue of which Julian Leeser has sat on the board for several years.

The Federal election will be held on Jul-02. Philip Ruddock has held the seat of Berowra since 1993.

Julian Leeser is contesting a very safe Liberal seat and won preselection with 97 votes out of a possible 114.
