Memorial Service for victims of the Holocaust

More than 200 members of the community gathered at the Martyrs’ Memorial at Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney to participate in the remembrance and name-reading ceremony ahead of Yom Hashoah.

Danny Hochberg, author Fiona Hariri and Amy Weiss spoke before everyone present read the names of those members of their family who had perished in the Holocaust.

The reading of the names was introduced by Dane Stern.

The memorial prayer and Kaddish was recited by The Great Synagogue’s Josh Weinberg

The event was organised by The New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies .
