‘Mein Kampf’ found in Gaza children’s room used as terror base
Israeli soldiers in Gaza have found a copy of “Mein Kampf,” Adolf Hitler’s antisemitic manifesto, in a children’s room in a civilian home that served as a terror base for Hamas, Israeli President Isaac Herzog disclosed in an interview with the BBC network on Sunday.
“This is Adolf Hitler’s book, ‘Mein Kampf,’ translated into Arabic.” This is the book that led to the Holocaust and the book that led to World War II. This book was found a few days ago in northern Gaza. In a children’s room, which became a base used for terrorist activities by the terrorist organisation Hamas,” Herzog said.
“The terrorist wrote notes, marked the sections, and studied again and again the ideology of Adolf Hitler to hate the Jews, to kill the Jews, to burn and slaughter Jews wherever they are. This is the real war we are facing,” the President noted as he thumbed through the book for the camera.
Herzog also blasted Hamas for misinformation about fighting in the area of Gaza’s Shifa Hospital.
“Hamas lies and gives false information – there is electricity in Shifa Hospital, everything is working, we are talking to the hospital administrators. We did not enter Shifa Hospital, where unfortunately, there is a huge, huge terrorist base operating underneath it,” Herzog stressed.
Hamas’s main headquarters is located under the massive Shifa Hospital complex in the northern Gaza Strip.
As reported by the Tazpit Press Service, Hamas makes extensive use of the Shifa Hospital. Believing that Israel would not attack a hospital during a war, Hamas leaders hide there, launch rockets from its compound, hide hostages in the bowels of the building, torture collaborators, and dig tunnels connecting Shifa to nearby sites. Israel also released a recording of a phone call confirming that Hamas also stores at least a half-million litres of fuel underneath Shifa.
Hamas has refused to allow Palestinians to evacuate northern Gaza to the safer southern areas of the Strip.
Said Herzog, “The headquarters and the entire activity headquarters of Hamas-ISIS is right below Shifa. What exactly are we supposed to do? Leave it as it is and then in a few years we will go through the same thing again? And you will tell us that it is disproportionate, and they will kill our civilians again. So we are calling on all uninvolved citizens – to move to another hospital nearby, we are coordinating this very delicately with all the forces around the place. Hamas is the one stopping them.”
