Mazeltov Adam!
The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) today congratulated Adam Goodes on being named Australian of the Year for 2014.
Chairman of the ADC, Dr Dvir Abramovich said:
“Adam Goodes embodies in word and in deed the high ideals of this honour. His dedication and commitment to fighting racism, to tackling stereotypes, and to empowering struggling teens, is truly inspiring. As an organisation whose mission is to combat prejudice and discrimination, we wholeheartedly agree and welcome Adam’s statement that, “racism is a community issue which we all need to address…” and we look forward to his continued leadership in the years ahead.
Adam has set an example in overcoming hatred and in bringing positive change to our country, and I know that his impassioned leadership and visionary advocacy will continue to benefit our communities for many years to come. We hope that this award will help Adam achieve his goal of eradicating bigotry and promoting equality and acceptance of everyone’s differences, and that he is able secure the support and encouragement he needs.
The ADC looks forward to working with Adam Goodes to realise the many admirable objectives he seeks to promote.”
