From the NSW Minister for Multiculturalism Mark Coure:

Mark Coure

“I wish all members of the Jewish community here in New South Wales and abroad a very happy Chanukah.

As I mentioned during the pre-Chanukah event at NSW Parliament House last month, this significant event has become one of our great community and cultural celebrations.

With its origins and meaning rooted in the history and faith of Judaism, its values underpin much of our rich multicultural and multifaith society—freedom, hope, community, and, of course, light.

Chanukah is also significant because of the Jewish community that resides here in NSW. You have opened your faith, your history and your culture up to everyone to experience, learn and be a part of. In doing so, you have helped break down barriers and brought people, no matter their faith, together.

On behalf of the NSW Liberal-National Government, I wish all members of the Jewish community a happy and safe Chanukah with your friends and family.

Chag Chanukah sameach!”
