Former Federal Judge Marcus Einfeld was sentenced to three years prison in Sydney’s Supreme Court today for lying in order to evade paying a $77 speeding fine.Justice Bruce James, in sentencing Einfeld, said he had engaged “in planned criminal activity” detailing a series of lies the judge had told in attempting to claim he was not the driver of the car clocked at 70 kmh….10 kmh over the legal speed limit in the leafy Sydney suburb of Mosman.

Before leaving the court, Einfeld told supporters “the bag is packed”.

The judge set a non-parole period of two years.
