Marcia re-appointed to the Victorian Multicultural Commission

Marcia Pinskier has been named by Victorian Premier John Brumby as a Commissioner to the Victorian Multicultural Commission…for the second time.

Originally appointed in 2005,  Melbourne-based Pinskier is actively involved in leadership roles within the city’s Jewish Community. She has been working closely with various cultural groups promoting better relationships and mutual understanding as well as assisting the Victorian police.

Premier Brumby said: “The new commissioners will have an important role to play in building links between and within our communities.”

John Merlino, Minister Assisting the Premier on Multicultural Affairs, said: “In Victoria, we have people who originate from more than 200 different countries, speak more than 200 different languages and follow more than 120 different faiths.”
