March of the Living participants trapped in Poland

More than 100 Australians  and New Zealanders who took part in the March of the Living at Auschwitz have found themselves trapped in Poland.

George Foster, president of the Australian Assoicciation of Holocaust Survivors and Descendants told J-Wire: “They usually stay in Krakow and will have to wait until the airtlines open the flights again.” Zionist Council of Victoria leader Danny Lamm added: “I understand El Al have a plane at the ready to fly them to Israel a visit to which usually follows the March.”

A report in the Washington Post states that the Australians were texting their families complaining about the food and conditions in Poland.

Airlines in Europe are at a standstill due to the volcanic ash released in the atmosphere following the eruption of a volcano in Iceland.
