Mar-10, 12,13 Sydney: Pinchas Steinberg conducts the SSO
Renowned Israeli conductor Pinchas Steinberg takes charge of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall
We open with Franck’s thrilling Accursed Huntsman and move swiftly to Ravel’s Ravel’s piano concerto (played by Ravel specialist the Canadian pianist Louis Lortie) which begins with the crack of a whip and ends in a jazz-inflected whirlwind of notes. Berloiz concludes the proceedings with his exhilarating and evocative Symphonie Fantastique. This is classical music at it’s exhilarating best, conducted by Pinchas Steinberg in his first visit to Australia. Absolutely Fantastique!
