Madrichim in training
The Zionist Youth Council in conjunction with the ZCNSW has run an educational seminar and training day for the madrichim from all the youth movements in NSW – Habonim Dror, Hineni, Nezter, Bnei Akiva and Betar.
With over 50 madrichim attending, they learnt about Duty of Care, First Aid, Food Safety and Security from CSG.
There was also a presentation which examined the Safeguarding Children and Youth People Policy, a document established by the AZYC and all madrichim in Australian youth movements abide by.
There were also educational programs ran by members of the ZYC and the shlichim. The highlight of the day was the elections for the ZYC positions for 2014.
We farewelled the ZYC members of 2013; Stephanie Wolff, Anna McGann and Josh Druery, and welcomed the new ZYC executive for 2014; Lanna Newman-Plant, Hannah Rapaport, Daniella Zac and Mitch Burnie. “The day was a great success” said Stephanie Wolff – chair of the ZYC. “It further developed the madrichim’s leadership skills and equipped them for the upcoming camps this summer”. The ZYC finished the year with a bang, by having an additional two events this week; a social BBQ and intermovement soccer match for all the madrichim and a bonding event for Year 12 chanichim who are about to embark on their Shnat journeys.
