Maccabiah senior teams confirmed – now for the athletes

The Australian Maccabi Delegation has taken an important step forward on the road to the 21st Maccabiah after having confirmed the senior leadership team, team managers and coaches for Australia’s delegation for the upcoming Games.

After an extensive interview process, the Senior Leadership Team (comprising 16 members), Team Managers and Coaches (60 in total), have been appointed to lead the Australian Delegation to the 2021 Games. A full list of appointments can be found on the Maccabiah website. Nominations are now open to be a part of the Media Team as a Journalist, Photographer or Videographer. Head of Delegation, Barry Smorgon made note of the high calibre of candidates and suggested that the group’s vast experience will be invaluable to delivering a successful Maccabiah campaign. “Our team culture and management philosophy of togetherness, mutual respect and a collegiate approach, will underpin the Australian Team, our goal is to provide a rewarding and memorable experience,” Smorgon said.

With the management team in place, general manager Simone Cohen officially opened the nominations for athletes and with the Games 18 months away encouraged all aspirant athletes to sign up by following the link, Athlete Nomination Form.

Athletes interested in Maccabiah 2021 are encouraged to attend the Information Sessions running in NSW on 16th February and VIC on 23rd February, with WA still to be confirmed. To register, please visit Event Information.

Maccabi Australia President Jeff Sher, believes that Maccabiah 2021 will be another significant event in the Maccabi calendar and sincerely thanked all of the volunteers now appointed, who by their contribution enable such a large undertaking to be successful. “We simply would not be able to support a team of over 500 without their dedication and commitment,” Sher said.
