The Chairman of Football Federation Australia will ignore advice from FIFA president Sepp Blatter to hold off until 2022. FIFA has abandoned its rotation policy and it seems certain the 2018 World Cup, the world’s premier sporting event, will be hosted by a European nation.

Lowy, who arrived in the Bahamas on his super luxury yacht has told media that football is a world game and although Europe had been its prime host for over 80 years, the future is now the ‘new world’,  referring to developing areas such as Asia.

The main bidders for 2018 are England, Spain, Russia and a joint bid from Belgium/Holland. From the Asian area, Qatar, Indonesia and China.
