Westfield chairman Frank Lowy has been honored by the property industry which has inducted him into a new initiative…the Australian Property Hall of Fame.
The Property Council of Australia created the Hall of Fame “to honour individuals for their major pioneering contribution, sustained leadership and lasting legacy to the property industry and Australian society”.
At a dinner in SYdney attended by more than 600 guests, Lowy took his place in the Hall fof Fame alongside two other real estate giants who have both passed away…Leand leases’s Dick Dusseldorp and the AMP’s Ray Powys.
Frank Lowy told J-Wire: “It is an honour to be recognised in this way – and more so to be recognised along with such outstanding individuals as Dick Dusseldorp and Ray Powys.”
Lowy co-founded Westfield in 1959. The company is today one of the largest shopping centre operators in the world. There are 47 Westfields in the United States, 39 in Australia, 10 in New Zealand, 5 in the U.K. and 4 in Brazil making a total of 105.
