After a horrific road accident, singer Dahlia Dior found herself with acute pain and a severe hip injury requiring an operation costing over $29,000.

Dahlia was determined to continue with all of her community activities while experiencing excruciating pain, and waiting for her operation on the public waiting list.

Now loving friends and colleagues of Dahlia are participating in an incredibly awesome show with the support of Sydney’s Camelot Lounge, fellow-musicians and guest artists, to help finance her operation.

The show will be hosted by Fay Sussman who will also perform, Joanna Weinberg (singer/songwriter/director), Gregg Arthur (Jazz singer/performer), Alex Parkmen (singer, composer, pianist), and of course Dahlia Dior (International Cabaret/Jazz singer/storyteller).

Top musicians will include Marcello Maio(pianist extraordinaire), Mark Harris(double bass wizard, vocals), Eddie Bronson (Sax, clarinet, accordion), Leo Novikov(violin), Phil Marks (Piano), Anatoli Torjinski (cello), and Courtney Severini (piano, vocals).

Dahlia has been singing and storytelling on stage across Australia, in Melbourne’s National Theatre, the Sydney Opera House, and in Hong Kong, Paris, Israel, London and the Philippines for the past 55 years.

With her love of Jazz to Cabaret, Blues, folk, and Latin pieces, her fans will enjoy her favourites like The Hymn For Love, The Tango, Eli, Eli, Non Je Ne Regrette Rien (No Regrets), and Dance Me To The End Of Love.

She plans to wow you all with Quando El Rey Nimrod, a Ladino song from her Masters thesis, Inshallah, a hymn symbolising her interfaith work in Australia. She sang this while on a tour with Jan Pierce, the Metropolitan opera star.

Dahlia has put on fundraising shows and raising money for peace projects, and interfaith work in communities all over the world. She wants to keep doing what she loves the most, which has always been her lifeline!

This outstanding variety show will be held on the 11th November at 8 pm at the Camelot Lounge, 19 Marrickville Road, Marrickville.
