Sydney’s Jewish community will see the return of Limmud in Your Lounge, a highly anticipated event featuring thought-provoking discussions on Jewish ideas and culture.

Waiting for Limmud

From June 10th to 12th, 2023, participants will gather in the comfort of their homes for a series of intimate conversations led by a diverse range of local Australian Jewish talent.

The event, which first ran successfully in 2018, aims to facilitate learning and connection within the community. With limited tickets available, attendees have the opportunity to engage in deep and meaningful conversations in an intimate setting.

The lineup of topics is both captivating and varied, ensuring a dynamic experience for participants. Among the sessions, attendees can look forward to “Solving the Mystery of Ancient Jewish Theatre: a Strange Intersection of Arts, Religion, and Politics,” where the historical significance of Jewish theatre will be explored.

Additionally, the discussion on “How to be funny on the Internet: Jewish humour in a world of memes” promises to shed light on the unique wit of Jewish culture in the digital era.

Other topics include “Finding your voice on the Voice,” “Modern love and Jewish passions,” and “What on earth is going on in Israel?! Making sense of the debate over Judicial reform.” These sessions aim to offer valuable insights, guidance, and a deeper understanding of Jewish perspectives in various contexts.

To cater to families, there will also be a DIY Challah cover-making workshop, allowing children and parents to engage in a creative and educational activity together.

Tickets for Limmud in Your Lounge can be purchased at Tickets — Limmud Oz Sydney, but interested individuals are encouraged to secure their spots quickly due to limited availability. This event promises to be a rewarding experience, fostering learning, connection, and community engagement within Sydney’s Jewish community.
