Leaders meet with Foreign Minister
T he core of the leadership of Australian mainstream Jewry has met with the country’s Foreign Minister, Bob Carr.
A spokesperson for the group which included Dr Danny Lamm and Peter Wertheim of The Executive Council of Australian Jewry, Dr Colin Rubenstein and Jeremy Jones of The Australia/Israel Jewish Affairs Council and president of the the Zionist Federation of Australia Philip Chester, said that the meeting had proved fruitful.
It was the first time the recently appointed minister had met with a collective group from the community.
Australia is buying a temporary seat on the UN Security Council, while the DFAT budget is coninuously cut..What the benefits of the seat are to our trade balance or our relations with our allies is a mystery.
The UNWRA is a corrupt, bloated special deal which maintains and ever enlarges the number of refugees who are designated as “Palestinian refugees”. It is political tool used against Israel by its enemies.
There are no other refugees with the special terms & conditions of the Palestinian refugees”. There has been nothing done to settle them, whilst 30 million other refugees, including a million Jews from Arab countries following pogroms, persecution, confiscation and expulsion have been resettled.
Jewish refugees and their rights do not rate a mention from the self righteous, self annointed humanitarians who preach to Israel and seek to strangle it..
SHOW ME THE FRUITS !!!!
FIVE communal leaders came up with …………….three words, : “meeting was fruitful”…….. eighteen letters, less than four letters per leader.
Let’s get serious. FA Minister Bob Carr has anounced some two weeks ago that he was going to deliver a NINETY MILLION DOLLAR blow to the Australian Jewish community. AFTER, I repat, AFTER the decision was finalised, a collective FIVE, no less, mustered the fortitude to see the author of one of the most unjust blows to the cause of justice for the people of Israel. Bob Carr has made an unambiguous statement. While fully aware of the overwhelming position of the Jewsih community expressed by Michael Danby in firm terms and also through the Jewish media , where we have seen only faint , inconclusive type statements from a couple of Jewsh communal leaders ( see AJN 31 May ), Australia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Bob Carr has defied, rejected the Jewish position on the matter.
So what sort of “fruitful” discussions could have possibly taken place !!!???
We deserve a full account of the talks and also an explanation in regards to the tardive “intervention” by the said leaders.
