Morry Frenkel speaks with Josh Burns, Labor Member for Macnamara, about the Albanese government’s response to the first report of the UNHRC’s “Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and Israel”.

Australia was not among the 22 signatories to the US-led statement but issued its own response.

    I agree with Morry Frenkel’s statement that Australia as signatory to the US led statement voting against UNHRC Commission of Enquiry findings re Israel/Palestinian situation, would have been a more powerful rebuttal. The idea of Australia wanting its own independent voice is, I think, a whitewash, possibly covering the dissension there might have been in Labor party discussion of the subject., a compromise in that regard.
