Maurice Klein speaks with Major (Ret) Rami Sherman, who was the Operation Officer of the Sayeret Matkal unit under the command of Yonatan Netanyahu, being part of the 33 officers and soldiers comprising the first unit assault team who freed the hijacked hostages at the Entebbe terminal 47 years ago.
In his capacity as Operations officer of the unit, Rami was part of the command group that planned the operation and was involved throughout the week in preparing the unit for the operation. Rami shares his thoughts and experiences about the hostage rescue and why it is important for Jews today to discuss the event and Israel’s relationship with the Jewish diaspora.
