Key makes it three
John Key has been re-elected Prime Minister of New Zealand and will serve his country as its leader for the third consecutive time.
John Key is the son of Ruth Lazar, a Jew who migrated to New Zealand as the horrors of the Holocaust started bearing down on Europe’s Jewish community.
Although a practising Christian, John Key has always acknowledged his Jewish heritage.
Geoff Levy, president of the New Zealand jewish Council, told J-Wire: “We are very pleased John Key has been re-elected with an increased majority for his National Party. We are confident that the good relationship between the Government and the NZ Jewish community and also with Israle will continue.to grow and improve. All those politicians who seemed to have been anti-Israel have not been re-elected and the Mana Internet party which had been very active in promoting BDS has no set in the new parliament. The people have spoken,
