The college’ Girls’ High School Captain in 2021 Shani Spielman achieved an ATAR of 98.95
A spokesperson for the college stated: “She encapsulates what it means to strike a successful balance in life – working diligently towards her HSC resulting in a successful university path ahead in Medicine, but first spending a gap year in Israel at a seminary to pursue her other passion for Torah – both ideas instilled in her from her 13 years as a KTC student.
She believes that the key to success lies in “loving what you do and also keeping a clear image of what the end goal is and not to stress too much.
Sage advice from a student who topped the state in two subjects, Classical Hebrew Continuers and Classical Hebrew Extension, and who achieved an ATAR of 98.95, which enables her to pursue her dream of a medical career.”
Studying Advanced English, Biology, Chemistry, Maths Extension 1 and Maths Extension 2, Classical Hebrew Continuers and Classical Hebrew Extension and Modern Hebrew, Shani said that “it is very fulfilling knowing that all the hard work paid off. I am very grateful to everyone who supported me and helped it happen.”
“Loving what you learn and choosing things you enjoy,” are included in the advice she extends to incumbent HSC students. “Consistent studying and not leaving everything to the last minute, taking breaks and having a social life somewhere in the mix too,” she adds, are what helped her to succeed.
College Principal, Roy Steinman added: “Shani approached everything she did with an acute focus and sense of purpose. We thank her for her leadership. Together with Vice Captain Rivka Niasoff, she had an incredible impact on the Girls’ High School, setting a very high standard of personal engagement with each student and helping to organise a number of very meaningful and impressive programmes. We wish her well for what we are sure will be an amazing future.”
