Keeping Kosher on the high seas

The good ship Volendam left Australian waters this week en route for New Zealand carrying Sydney and Melbourne passengers on a Kosher cruise.

The ship, which at full capacity can accommodate 1,432 passengers has an onboard  cruise Rabbi in charge of  davening, shailot and lectures.  The cruise is run by Israeli-based company Eddie’s Travel for Kosher Travelers. It will visit the Milford Sound, Dunedin, Christchurch, Picton, Wellington, Napier, Tauranga for Rotarua and Auckland.
