A valiant Maccabi Tigards side lost a hard-fought grand final 1-4 to the Wild Things in the U/15 Inner City Fut5al championship.

The Blues were up against a team who has been unbeaten all season.  However they played a lovely brand of football giving a great  account of themselves in a game that offered the noisy crowd  exciting end-to-end action.

The Blues had an even share of  possession but, ironically, were breached on the counter-attack by a  quick and skilfull team.

Miriam Charak was her usual powerful presence in goal and could do  nothing about any of the first 3 goals. Indeed she went up front in  the 2nd half and grabbed one back for Maccabi before the WildThings  put away a 4th to put the game out of reach.

Bec Cass and Liora Baram were committed in defence, Ella Werman, Sarah Charak and Naomi Sirmai dynamic in midfield, while Gubby  Kaplan’s power and Tayla Rosen’s finesse were a constant threat  upfront, although Tamara Viner was missed this week.

A big thanks to all the families for their great support of the girls who grew in confidence and definitely honed their skills. It  will put them in good stead for the winter outdoor season ahead…  and for the indoor game? There’s always next year. Mazeltov girls…  you did yourselves proud.
