In a statement, the federal Liberal MP for Berowra Julian Leeser said: “I congratulate Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price and Senator Kerrynne Liddle on their frontbench elevations.

These are great appointments by Peter Dutton.

I have worked closely with Jacinta and Kerrynne. Together they will make significant contributions to addressing the challenges being faced by regional and remote Indigenous communities.

I also congratulate James Paterson on his elevation to Shadow Cabinet. His appointment to the Home Affairs Portfolio is a recognition of his tremendous work in cybersecurity. James is a powerhouse on security and a passionate defender of Australia’s national interest.

Finally, I welcome the return of Michaelia Cash to the Attorney-General’s portfolio. Michaelia will bring her intellect, skill and energy to this vital portfolio. As a former Attorney-General, Michaelia will be a strong advocate on the issues of security, privacy, the establishment of the NACC and Labor’s purge of the AAT, as well as offer the judgement and experience needed to respond to the Government’s family law changes.

These changes will further strengthen our Coalition team.”
