UIA NSW is hosting its AGM on Zoom on Tuesday 10 November with guest speakers Isaac ‘Bougie’ Herzog – Chairman of The Jewish Agency of Israel and Omer Yankelevich – Minister of Diaspora Affairs.

Isaac Herzog

Herzog was a Knesset member in 2003 – 2018 holding several ministerial posts, including Minister of Welfare and Social Services. Formerly the chairman of the Labor Party, he served as opposition leader in 2013 – 2018.

Yankelevich is the first ultra-Orthodox woman to be appointed to a ministerial position. Born to secular immigrants from the Soviet Union, she founded a social voluntary organisation, initiating ground-breaking social projects promoting equal opportunities for minority groups.

“Whilst this year has thrown up its fair share of challenges, it has also enabled many opportunities and driven innovation. UIA has become a leader in connecting our community to Israel in virtual and other tangible ways. Join us to hear about the incredible year that has passed and our exciting plans for the future,” UIA CEO Yair Miller said.
