Members of Sydney’s Jewish community joined a Sydney rally in support of refugees detained in Nauru and Manus Island.

Organiser of Jews for Refugees and Music for Refugees Philip Feinstein told J-Wire: “The wet weather didn’t deter Jewish supporters for refugees from attending the Sydney rally.

Although only a couple of “oldies” turned up, congrats to the younger ones for being there!

In a packed Town Hall there were some great speeches from many people despite a couple of negative remarks against the Jewish cause.

Let’s hope our numbers are bigger next time, as I know many of us believe in a better life for refugees.”

I welcome all refugees who wish to wear the name ‘New Australian’ with the same pride that we did.
I revile hypocritical Jews and others who wave banners and shout slogans but aren’t prepared to take refugees into their own home. If all those of us who have a spare room (and many do) took in a genuine refugee, we wouldn’t need detention centres….but we would soon be able you separate decent, genuine needy refugees from those who come here to undermine our way of life.
Don’t shout slogans without appreciating that by arriving here illegally, jumping queues containing needy, genuine refugees some individuals are in fact simply invading what is our home.
It’s easy to be a bleeding heart, shout slogans and wave banners, but if you don’t want them in your own home, you are merely a hypocrite.

The signs in the photo welcomes ALL refugees.

Where are the Syrian and Iraqi Christians and Yazidis and other minority refugees whose communities in the muslim arab world are under constant attack with murder, rape and enslavement by the muslim barbarians? Why are so few of them making it here?

And why welcome ALL refugees? Why welcome the barbarians at the cost of the victims of the barbarians? Why, as Jews, welcome the barbarians who clearly state their commitment to rule over you or kill you?

Good point Danny the sign should read these dimmi Jews for refugees .
There needs to be an immediate moratorium on all refugees and asylum seekers from the Middle East and Africa until all immigrants from that part of the world learn to integrate , assimilate like all other asylum seekers refugees including Jews before them and until the threat of Muslim terrorism and extremism is no longer .
Those young naive Jews in Sydney do no represent me that’s for sure .
I would welcome refugees from our neighborhood .
Perhaps those Jews in Sydney live in a bubble and are not aware of the existing judeophibia ( much if it under the guise of anti Zionism ) we don’t need to make the problem even worse .

  3. Paul Winter says:

As a refugee, I too welcome refugees. As a Jew, I am aware of the mitzvah of welcoming the stranger.

As an adult with life experiences, I resent economic invaders who jump queues and try to force themselves into advanced economies where they can benefit from social services. As a prudent person, I want no part of people who come to my adopted country and demand that I and my fellow citizens submit to the standards of their religion. The same group that tells us that we must not blame them for the terror plans of a small group of them but then not only fail to condemn them themselves, but appoint extremists as religious leaders.

As a father and a grandfather, I condemn parents who have failed to raise children who respond to social issues in a rational and Jewish way.

  4. Michael Burd says:

Perhaps we can fulfill two rolls at the same time.

Our Jewish community is looking to increase the number of Armed guards to protect our Jewish school children , our community is also erecting Bomb proof walls around some of our Schools and community centers so they need laborers as well.

I suggest we hire some of these young male Syrian , Iraqi & Palestinian Muslim refugees?
