JewishCare ready to care
Sydney’s JewishCare continues to support the community during these challenging times with family, mental health, financial, aged care and disability services.
Its essential services for disability, community aged care and mental health continue to be provided with interim remote programs being implemented for Burger Centre, Our Kitchen Hand, JDay and our volunteer ran ‘Call2Connect’ service.
Non-essential JewishCare employees are working from home and contactable as usual.
Protecting employees, volunteers and community is JewishCare’s priority it tells J-Wire.
JewishCare encourages the community to remain connected during these challenging times by engaging with friends and family via telephone or digital channels while maintaining routine and regular exercise.
The ‘Call2Connect’ service connects the community with a friendly volunteer who calls them for a chat to help reduce isolation and identify any additional support they might be requiring. To register your interest in this program, please contact Lana on [email protected].
“Protecting our employees, volunteers and community is JewishCare’s priority,” says Chief Executive Officer, Gary Groves.
JewishCare also offers our community financial support for those experiencing hardship. Our Financial Assistance Fund is able to provide a range of support to eligible recipients, including food and petrol vouchers, essential accommodation payments, medical and pharmaceutical expenses, etc.”
JewishCare will continue to monitor the situation and encourage our community to reach out if they’re in need of support on 1300 133 660.
